The Mind of an Experiment

I’m not sure where it all went wrong,
Or when,
Or why

Sometimes I feel like the lessons serve no real purpose,
The paths always diverge in an uncharted territory.
The mountains are too tall to climb,
And I drown trying to pass through their waters.

They messed with my platform,
I think,
Someone tampered with the wiring.
They stuck their fingers in haphazardly,
twisted and pulled –

Now they just close the doors,
They lock their windows at night.

I feel lost,
albeit a little broken,
in a world that doesn’t feel as deeply as it should.
And I’m not sure I’ve been equipped with the power to fix it.
