Controlled Paradigms

Life is entirely a choice, every waking moment is another made.

I could wake up today and go for a run.
I could drive back to my hometown and visit the cornfields we used to play in.
I could sit on my couch instead, drink the afternoon away and sulk over bad omens.
I could warp my fate –
I could quit my job on a whim or get into my car and drive some place far, far away.
I could write a book or two, set a plot for the next big movie in time.
I could kiss the random stranger or stand in the middle of the highway.
I could call my mother.
I could even do something unspeakable, like pull a gun in public or bring out the worst in everyone I meet.

Life is entirely a choice, every waking moment is another made.

Never say that you do not have control over something so easily molded by your hands.
Never hand your ball of clay to someone else.
Never lose sight of what you’re shaping yourself into.

I think at the end of each day, whatever we create will be our key to the door of the next.
