Interstellar

Daylight breaks through
the frosted window pane,
shards of glass illuminating
sharp reflections, dancing
rays from opposite walls
shift back unto my irises.

The wind chill bites and
the colors bleed in return,
they swirl with deep hazel,
flecks of green grass peek
out from behind the moon,
If there is life on Mars I’m
willing to bet it’s born from
an interstellar divinity, a
clever ruse, an end game
decoded in the Milky Way.
